For most homeowners in Australia, cultivating a lush lawn can be quite a challenge considering the harsh climate that the grass will have to endure. In addition to this, factor in water restrictions and it becomes even harder to maintain a green lawn. As such, more and more people are looking to artificial turf to enhance the curb appeal of their homes. A common misconception that some people have though is that artificial turf comprises lurid fake blades of grass that can be spotted as artificial from a mile away. This could not be further from the truth though. With the advancements in this industry due to growing demand for turf grass, you now have a myriad of options when it comes to softly textured fake grass for your lawn. Here are some of the different types of artificial turf that you could consider.

Polypropylene turf

If you were looking for one of the most affordable types of artificial grass in the market, then polypropylene would be your ideal choice. This low-cost alternative is commonly used for putting greens. It should be noted though that it does not fare well in high temperatures as it has a low melting point. As such, it tends to wear out faster than other artificial turf options in the market.

Polyethylene turf

This type of artificial grass is typically used for a numerous applications such as football fields, home landscaping and more. It is characterized by its soft texture, which makes it appear as natural as regular grass. Although it tends to be pricier than other artificial turf options, it does make up for the increased cost by being low maintenance and long lasting. If you were keen on getting artificial grass that will look just as great as natural lush lawns, then this would be your best bet.

Nylon turf

This type of artificial grass is one of the strongest options that you can find in the market. Not only is it capable to withstand high foot traffic, it also has a high melting point, thus can brave the hottest summers. It should be noted though that this increased strength stems from the turf having a stiffer pile as compared to other artificial grass options. As such, it is aesthetically appealing but is not as comfortable to walk on as the other turf options. This type of artificial grass is recommended to be used as a secondary tuft rather than your main grass.
